‘WILL?’

He was falling. His head jerked up, and he spun, and his reaching hand touched flat against the hard, warm wall behind him. He was standing in a narrow street among black blocks of buildings. Dusk was now dark.

‘Hey, Will— Collucci says we’re ready to go, okay?’

‘Yeah? Yeah. Be right with you.’

‘Will— great,’ Collucci said, as Will came through the door. ‘We’re going with the motorbike scene— okay?’

It wasn’t the scene he’d wanted to do again. Collucci evidently thought him too stupid to notice. ‘Okay,’ Will said, and went through the doors into the studio.

The technicians looked at each other. Collucci raised his brows. ‘Gentlemen. We may get out of here tonight. Run the film.’
